| The Legend of The Dairy Airmen |
| Once upon a time in America, The government in an effort to "make all citizens rise to their full potential", banned the production and sale of alcohol. During these prohibition years, folks became more and more creative about how to produce and distribute alcohol to the thirsty masses. A group of farmers banded together and used the tanks of their cropduster aircraft to smuggle liquor into the heartland. This was accomplished during the Barnstorming air shows they performed on weekends in surrounding counties. After every airshow there would be a "dance" at the local grange whereWestern Style Music was played and "dancing" would go on well into the night. Word got out about these air shows and "dances" and soon they were attended by everyone from dirt farmers to national politicians. The Dairy Airmen and their Flying Speakeasy became known throughout the heartland. and a grand time was had by all! You may have noticed the little (or not so little) play on words in the name..... The Airmen were daring, colorful characters with pockets full of cash and and endless supply of liquor. It was no accident that they became quite popular with the Farmers daughters,....girlfriends....wives.... And so a legend was born! |
